Not specifically regarding this but an elf/dwarf pairing might be interesting. But it might step on toes in regards to Gimli and Legolas's majestic epic friendship.

Well there is that aspect, but I admit that my own reason not to support Kili/Tauriel is rather shipping-centred - I simply prefer to ship Kili elsewhere.

I am just holding onto the hints I have been seeing that the thing between them is not serious.

I find myself incredibly apathetic about this movie. I wasn't very excited about the last one, either, even if I enjoyed it. I don't really get it, because I could watch LotR over and over and never get tired of it...

And Smaug sounds awesome! I like how demonic they made Benedict sound; it's so fitting!

And Tauriel is gorgeous and Thorin, UNF. And of course the whole Bilbo and Smaug scene...

It looks really good!

I am sick to goddamn death about how I can't find any actual discussion on the trailer other than OMG BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH TALKED OMG I NEED TO CHANGE MY PANTIES.

Shut the fuck up. There is more interesting stuff to talk about. I loved most of the casting for Lord of the Rings and most of the casting for The Hobbit but godDAMN I want to punch them for casting Cumberbatch.

As if his shrieking slobbering hoard of fangirls weren't obnoxious enough in Sherlock fandom! Now they're going to infest The Hobbit, too? Go the fuck away, and take your nasty Smaug/Bilbo with you*.
