Walt Whitman.

Who's generally assumed to be gay, though I don't know if that's ever been confirmed by hard evidence.

Wilde was quite well known as being gay, even in his lifetime.

And they weren't in a relationship, they (to quote one of the headlines about their meeting) 'probably had sex once'.

So...yeah, very different situations, and really overinflating what (may have) happened between Wilde and Whitman.
