This episode was infinitely better than the pilot. I even liked the science twins, though the science bro is still kinda annoying. Melinda is shaping up to be my favourite, even if there's probably some tragic and angsty trauma in her past that made her stop going into the field. But damn, she's badass.

I'm a bit worried about Coulson, though. As great as he was in the movies, I'm not sure how well his character works in a show. Everyone was better than in the pilot, except for Coulson, who I thought was kind of weak? I guess we'll have to see how it goes, but the only time he really worked for me was at the very end, which was OMG SO PERFECT!!!111!

This episode was infinitely better than the pilot. I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels that way! It was a definite improvement. We're actually getting a bit of character development and seeing relationships form and it's nice!

I like both science twins, but the dude is a bit more prominent so I guess I can see that? But I'm liking him just fine. Melinda is really the standout character in the series for me and while I think you're spot on with her backstory, I'll deal. She's a pleasure to watch!

The end was fantastic and one of my favorite bits (DAT GUEST STAR), but idk, this is one of those things everyone's going to have an opinion about. Coulson is one of the things I like best about the series; I don't think I would be half as interested if he wasn't involved, and now I'm starting to become intrigued by the rest of the cast. Maybe he'll improve for you? We didn't see much of him in any of the Marvel films, so maybe you feel the focus on him ruins things.
