Re: Genderbend fic

I didn't get it for a long time. Then I "met" Meredith McKay, and apparently got hooked on her. Later came the others. I'm still picky about it, and I often can't explain why a certain bent!gender doesn't feel right, but I've seen so good stories in this category that I try to give every interpretation a chance.
Oh, and I just don't get why romance/smut with a half-genderbent gay pairing reads differenty from a het story, but it just... does. I'm a slasher. I have lots of het ships, but can't read het romance, it drives me on the wall. Genderbent!Romance however, still "behaves" just like slash. I'm afraid my problem with het isn't in the character's gender but the narrative of the stories.
