Given the mentality, they wouldn't care. They would say that while it started off as a Greek name it has been adopted by black culture, therefore, stay away white people.

Look at what they say about flower crowns being appropriation against Hawaiian culture even after you point out that just about every culture on the planet have some variation of flower crowns.

I don't get it. Why would SJWs get upset about someone named Cleopatra? Is it a popular name for black women?

Yes, at least in America. And since the majority of SJWs are American. What they think goes in the US goes for the world.

Not only is it a common name among black people, there are a lot of people who think she was black. (Highly unlikely, even ignoring her Macedonian ancestry.)

Not to mention the coins that were found with her face on them. She looked a lot like Barbra Streisand.

People say that about flower crowns? Really?

search using the words, "flower crowns appropriation" on tumblr. Enjoy the wank.

(Anonymous) 2013-10-02 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Just when I think tumblr can't get any worse.

(Most of the flower crowns I saw on tumblr didn't even look like Hawaiian flower crowns, and... ah shit, never mind.)

It gets even worse: Apparently, some even go as far as saying cooking foreign dishes or learning different languages is appropriation.
