I didn't mind it on Buffy because it is coming out of the mouths of teenagers and it isn't as jarring. But most adults don't talk like that. Well, aside from Stark. But Whedon's dialog fits Stark's personality.

Judging by the other actors' expressions during some of those Tony Stark-driven scenes and some of the stories regarding script writing/production/shooting/whatever, I think you're probably right.

RDJ seems really protective of his character and I think that the "Tony Stark" elements of the various movies really benefits from it.
