Now you see, the reason why I can't take Oxford comma fundy-mentalists seriously is because they keep inventing examples that would be wrong under a comma-optional style. "I invited the strippers, JFK and Stalin" would require actually reading the sentence, and either adding a comma or changing the order of the list to reduce any ambiguity.

And for the sake of complete disclosure, the house style where I work is comma-mandatory. But, I have just enough sanity to recognize it as a stylistic convention, along with avoidance of double-negatives and passive speech.
