It's odd how the hatedom for her seems to have ballooned in the past year or so, to the point that there are secrets just based in hate of her and nothing to do with her actual stories (most of the time). Like the fiction isn't even the focus of most of these secrets, it's the person herself. I almost never hear anyone sing her praises. A hatedom of something that doesn't actually have a fandom...

My theory is that, since the Twilight fandom is pretty much out of the mainstream with the movies and books all being over, the anti-SMeyer fans joined in with the anti-CCs that already existed. They created a new, superpowered hatedom, with little more than an apparently flopped movie to spark its birth. Who knows what fandom they'll flock to hate next... (insert evil laugh)

I'd guess the movie stirred up conversation about her, thereby creating new haters and bringing old haters back into the chattering fold. Although, there are lots of things that have hatedoms but no fandoms. Like F.A.T.A.L. RPG.

Or it could be that the movie based on her books came out and stirred up long-held feelings, just like the new SHEILD TV show has resulted in a slew of Joss-is-gross secrets (which I approve of).

It's nothing as deep as "it's cool to hate, who can we hate on next?".
