tmi talking about the womenz parts

(Anonymous) 2013-10-05 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
So, I found a black growth on my vulva. Obviously I was very worried. It is sort of shiny (not like a mirror but...you know), not painful, doesn't itch, or bleed. It looks like a black mole. It is most definitely not an STD.

I went to the gyno, she took one look, and was like, "Nothing to worry about. These are really common actually." But I am still worried. I can't find anything else on these (which is weird if they were common). Anyone ever had this happen before?

Is it a mole or a similar kind or growth?

Ugh. I hate when your doctor doesn't tell you shit but "Seems normal."

She mentioned it was some type of mole. But she didn't say a specific name so I can't find anything on it. :|

Can you call her and ask exactly what kind of mole it was?

I suggest you start calling it a mole rather than a "growth." It's a mole (according to your gyno) so you don't have to worry too much. Just make sure it doesn't change too much.

If you call it a "growth" you'll worry more.

Was it vulval haemangioma, by any chance? It's just a mole that has formed from blood vessels, shouldn't be anything unusual.

That looks like it! Now that I have a picture and name, I am a lot less worried. Thank you anon!

That's the most common place to develop a mole. If your doctor is saying it's a mole and not to worry, I think you should stop worrying.

Listen to the woman who went to medical school.

If you have so little confidence in your gyno that you won't believe them over anons on F!S and random internet articles that could have been written by anybody, get a new gyno. I mean it.
