The series is one of my new favorites but I've never found the titans scary or been particularly disturbed by all the people getting eaten. And actually I don't really find the series very gory either, myself, even the manga -- it's more gory than stuff like Naruto or Bleach, but it's not like it's Berserk or Gantz levels of gore, either. (I have a weirdly high tolerance for gore as long as it's in the context of a non-realistic sort of series -- like I can watch a slavering monster graphically eviscerate a human on TV without blinking an eye but half the time I have to look away during the fake surgeries on Grey's Anatomy.) It doesn't really effect my feelings on the series -- I figure I don't need to find the titans scary as long as I understand why the characters do.
