Don't worry, OP, I feel the same way. I like the show, but I'm not crazy about it (or the characters). Maybe it's 'cause I'm not caught up yet, idk, but I haven't been affected by any character's death yet. Hell, instead of finding the titans creepy, they make me laugh. This show is so over-the-top that I can't take it seriously, I guess. And I'm surprised by the tumblr fandom's love for the characters, but that's a whole 'nother post...

The plot is intriguing though, and I want to know just wtf is up with the titans. I watch it to see just how more ridiculously dark it's gonna get, and I feel like I'm watching it for a different reason than I should.

I can understand the love for characters. But I don't understand why everyone gets so torn up about certain characters death that you KNOW are expendable.

For everyone always saying anyone can die, no main character has died. All the 104th kids are still alive except Marco. But he was way too sweet, kind-hearted, and likable that you kinda could see it coming.

Petra, Aururo, Erd, and Gunther were also expected. Their purpose was to be the elites that get killed off to show how big a threat the female titan was. But still, side characters.

All side characters have 98% mortality rate. The main characters at least have plot armor, even in a series as ruthless as this I can see it.
