90s TV

Anyone else miss it? Aside from the corny laugh tracks.

I miss almost everything about the 90s and the early 2000s, not gonna lie. The clothes, the humor, the Nickelodeon, the fandom.

I hated how everyone was afraid that if you even had an email address, you'd be stalked and murdered. Now I kind of wish people still thought like that so I didn't have to worry about a future employer reading my facebook profile. So yeah, I miss the early 2000s for the internet. And the TV. And the sarcasm.

I barely watched TV in the 90s, so not really.

HELL YES.

For me 90s television is defined by the Simpsons credits, the Gracie Films logo, and the 20th Century Fox fanfare -- and then the 10 o'clock WXIX news comes on.

There's nothing wrong with laugh tracks I WILL FIGHT YOU ABOUT THIS

Seriously, though, I don't think there's anything intrinsically wrong with laugh tracks, and there were some shows in the 90s that actually used them really well - most notably, Newsradio. Which is also my favorite 90s sitcom. What I miss is shows being able to use laugh tracks well.

OP

You actually have a point about using them well. I mean, on Friends and Seinfeld it was just part of the show - yes it's jarring to hear again with 2013 ears, but it worked. Whereas some shows, past and present, get so annoying with it, and I think that's the reason for my bias.

I was just watching Roseanne. :C I don't miss "90s TV" but I do miss certain shows.

The fucking laugh tracks are still around, anyway, not much to miss there...

I've been on a bit of a Daria rewatch kick lately and I will never stop loving Darkwing Duck, but other than that not really. I liked 90s TV fine in the 90s but have no nostalgia for it now.

Hell yes. And I don't care if it's mostly 'cause my nostalgia goggles are on too tight, I miss a lot about the nineties, except for most of the clothes, hairstyles and slang.

I miss everything about the 90's. When the fashion now is to dress as little as possible, I kind of miss the way too high jeans and flannel shirts. Or the doc marten boots. Or those horrible floral print pants. And the neon colors, everything was sooo neon!

Everything about 90s TV, especially the sitcoms and the cartoons. There was this great selection of black sitcoms that were vastly superior to the House of Payne bullshit we have now, and the cartoons, I mean, Disney Afternoon? Nickelodeon? Saturday morning WB? Classic Cartoon Network? No fucking comparison. Not to mention it was the heyday of Xena and Hercules. Ugh, I'm making myself sad.
