Mmm, well, Carlos is supposed to be dark skinned. Cecil has no description, really.

The wank as far as I can tell is because some people wanted to start a discussion about race. A bunch of people who liked white Cecil felt attacked and got defensive. Some of the people who wanted to talk about race then got nasty. Now it's kind of a free-for-all where people attack anyone for anything.

Generally, there are four main groups but only three are really active in the wank.

From what I can tell the four groups are:

Group 1) People who headcanon white Cecil and think anyone talking about race is stupid. (A lot say this in borderline racist ways.)

Group 2) People who headcanon not-white Cecil and say anyone who doesn't is racist. They also think the "every headcanon is valid" argument is an excuse for racism.

Group 3) People who have either headcanon but say everything is valid and so everyone should shut up. Don't ever talk about race again. Show's over.

Group 4) People who have either headcanon and think that every headcanon is valid but recognize race talk is important in the large context. However, they think tumblr is horrible at it and stay quiet.

Groups 1-3 are generally in the wank. 4 might be but it's rare. (This is completely just based off my personal observations of fandom so take it with a grain of salt.)

But as I said, this is just how I've experienced fandom. It probably differs for others.

I Black-listed 2 people and found that I can usually go on the tag now with little desire to stab people anymore.

Huh. Interesting. I just don't read text posts anymore. I scroll quickly until I find art, see if I want to reblog it, and move on.

But to be completely honest I go through my old art reblogs more often and check the artists for anything new they may have drawn or reblogged themselves.

I should probably get the thing that lets you blacklist people and things... eh. Oh well.

I mainly got Tumblrsavior because I have a couple friends who post fandom stuff like crazy that I can't stand so I could block those fandoms and not have to unfriend.

Also to block the crazy amount of ebay on the Nintendo tag.

Yeah, I just don't follow any tags. I go into them when I'm ready and none of the people I follow post stuff that bothers me. I'll probably get it eventually though. Then I'll wonder how I managed tumblr without it.

You don't even need to get Tumblr Savior to blacklist people- the site has an Ignore function built in.

The utility of TS is more for when you either like someone enough that you still want to be able to see some of their content appear in your search results and dashboard, or when you hate them enough that you don't even want to see conversation chains that they participated in.

Hmm, true, but they can still follow you and stuff. I'm not too worried about it, to be honest, because I don't bother to stick around long enough to become really bothered by some of the angry people.

Yeah, I don't have the problem either. Maybe when I do someday I'll get it. Though... it would help to relieve all the Free! and SNK stuff on my dash. Hmmm, I'll think about it. I'm just lazy. (A lot of people I follow don't tag though...)
