I remember when it was just swearing. And sometimes things 90s parents decided were swearing. (Suck! Freak! Jerk! Oh my god!)

Now it's everything that a) implies some people have more sense than others, or b) is loosely based on a word that meant something rude in Latin.

...Frankly, the day they start scolding me for saying "turdburglar" or "weinerwagon" is the day I just throw up my hands and call it quits. :P (I mean, I imagine "screwhead" is already off limits. Because it's probably offensive to crazy people. And possibly people with metal plates in their heads, but that's a dying practice anyway.)
