Caring about the fanfic aspect of this isn't bad. Most people don't want to see freedom of expression on the internet curtailed, so that's nothing to be ashamed of. In fact, you should be proud that you care. You should also be proud of being aware of TPP at all. The media has done a very good job keeping it quiet so a lot of people aren't even aware it exists, much less how much of a threat it poses on a variety of fronts.

Opposition to SOPA/TPP and similar measures comes from a source of not wanting to surrender individual freedoms to unaccountable corporate entities who, many believe, have too much control over people and nations as it is. Whether that means being free to write & read fanfic, or free to form a union, or free from some multinational telling your state or country you can't pass an environmental law they don't like, it all comes from the same place. So you shouldn't consider yourself separate from or lesser than other opponents of the law. Whatever the primary issue is for each person, those who oppose it are all on the same side and given the powerful interests who are pushing TPP and similar measures, the more people out there saying no and raising awareness, the better.
