37. Perhaps I should modify my "intelligence has nothing to do with liking/disliking badfic" rant to say "skill as a writer has nothing to do with liking/disliking badfic". Why do these things always have to be mutually exclusive? Yes, I know you probably have a point, but I don't see it. I just don't see how giving a less-than-stellar fic a good review = shitty writer.

It wasn't "less-than-stellar," it was awful. Think of the worst badfic you've ever read, then think of the various people commenting saying that it's so great and the writer should write more.

Would you trust those people's interpretations of characters? I wouldn't.

...I stand corrected. See, I assumed you meant "bad" as in "sloppy and mediocre". If we're talking "My Inner Life" or "For Your Eyes Only" bad, then I agree with you.
