12) I have to say, it drives me freaking nuts when a pair of RPers (sometimes romantically involved in RL, sometimes nuts) have to have their characters get involved in every RP they're in. :| It's usually OOC and on top of that it just feels kind of like...two-person masturbation. And not the good kind.

23) To be fair, some works of fiction are objectively bad. Dan Brown's books. Eragon. Hot Gimmick. You know the drill. Technically, most works of fiction are objectively bad (hello, Sturgeon's Law).

But I know the sort of thing you're talking about, and it bugs the crap out of me too. Just because a series/book/whatever doesn't appeal to your tastes doesn't mean it sucks, and you don't need to sneer at people whose tastes it did appeal to.

Those people, however, are not nearly as hilarious (or as aggravating) as the people who insist that because their OTP didn't hook up, Author X can't write romance. Or even can't write at all. Or has some deep moral failing.

12. this is from the person who won't let anyone else play the characters because they 'are doing it wrong', too. :-P I'm tired of seeing people take up all the roles in a comm and do all the same things. variation wouldn't hurt, would it?

I have a feeling that even if it was IC, you'd dislike it just because it would fail to make you feel completely safe in your superior position. Stop whining and play, yeah? :|

So now disliking something because it interferes with RP is a "superior position"? OKAY.

Agreed. And to the poster of number 12: We can see your URL, darling. We can see your NAME. Also, that's not a secret. Everyone knows already and it's obnoxious.

Back OT. Putting aside the OOCness and the fact that it's almost ALWAYS for sex, it makes other players feel alienated. It's like having a two person clique. =\ I mean I've ended up playing with some players more than others, but...that only just happens on its own.

The funny thing is, I have no clue what this drama is. I just recognize the type of player from my own unrelated RP.

My big issue with it is that it tends to indicate that the players in question have trouble separating IC from OOC. Players that have trouble separating IC from OOC are usually (in my experience) the biggest source of wank in an RP. Plus, anything that has to do with romance in an RP automatically ups the wank factor. x_x Not, obviously, that everyone who RPs romance is wanky, but rather that RPing romance leads to more opportunities than usual for wank. Uh. Double entendre not actually intended for once.

12. All I can honestly say is that Deidara x Naruto is one of their LESS OOC pairings. Well, at least in concept.
