Their friendship is my favorite part of the show, but I don't have any particular feelings about them as a pairing. I'll be happiest with them as platonic, very good friends, but if the show goes the romantic route, I don't think I'd be particularly upset. Unless it handles the relationship badly. Then I'd mourn.

Very good point. I'd really love to know why so many writers think that the amount of screentime per episode that was taken up by UST, flirting, cutesy guest star 'Wow you two should be a couple' shenanigans, etc, before the couple got together, MUST be replaced by an equivalent amount of screentime devoted to relationship angst, jealousy, and bickering after they get together.

I've seen it happen with couples I support, couples I hate, and couples I'm ambivalent about, and it's always equally annoying.
