The Mako Mori test is imperfect as well, as it can be passed by a film in which only one woman exists.

why is that a bad thing? i'd take a film with a single well-developed female character who has an important role in the narrative and her own storyline over something like your typical romcom, which while it may pass the bechdel test, usually isn't full of examples of well-written female characters. i'd much rather have quality over quantity.
