(Anonymous) 2013-10-08 11:23 am (UTC)(link)I do like Teen Wolf (or I like that it's pretty porn without sex), but it has suddenly turned the crank up on the out pour of A/B/O fics, that if I'm not finding crossovers everywhere, I'm finding that dynamic.
I don't like Homestuck, Supernatural, or Sherlock. Tried Homestuck, and it failed to pull me in. Watched Supernatural until they said that Sam was the anti-christ, I felt that even if it wasn't true, it carried far to heavy into religion for me, so I shut that off. And I just don't care for Sherlock Holmes very much in general. I never read the books, and the only movies I really liked were RDJs versions.
That said, I understand the frustration of trying to navigate around all of them. I'm able to avoid it on tumblr, because I stop following someone if they start to get all doe-eyed for a Bendy Cucumber, because I don't find him aesthetically pleasing. If someone makes more than two mentions of Homestuck, I unfollow them (hey it's true. There is a reason I'm on anon for this). Supernatural doesn't bug me so bad, because the fandom seems so meshed into the show that all I see now from the reactions (based on fans) is the show is pretty much tripe and plot to make the fans scream in rage (and they think Destial is going to be canon, until it happens I'm calling queer baiting, lets see if the creators and the network have the balls to actually do it).
So I'm pretty successful in avoiding things I don't want to see. Which is why more often then not I avoid AO3, and stick to Fanfiction.net, because even if the standards aren't that high (or so I've been told), I see less crossovers there when I'm in the designated area for a fic. I think AO3 should have a 'crossover' section. Or a box you can check that says 'include' 'exclude' crossovers. Instead of using a script, or code to blacklist it (because I've NEVER had problems with tumblr savior... if I didn't, I wouldn't have unfollowed people).
But, with all the responses you got, it was a wise decision to make this a secret (as you've probably seen). Keep trucking, and hopefully you don't stumble upon crossovers that aren't at all tagged/mentioned, and you don't know till halfway through, when the plot suddenly changes and it's all about the 'insert two shipped characters (most likely male) from one of the four mentioned shows' hour.
