Posting Anon

(Anonymous) 2013-10-08 11:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Just started on a new team at work this week.

New girl has started with me.

Pretty certain she wants the d, and she's a lovely girl who totally fits my 'type'.

Remind me how bad an idea this is f!s.

Is... there a reason it would be a bad idea? Are one or more of you in relationships already?

Re: Posting Anon

da

but some people would argue that it is generally a good idea to avoid intimate relationships in the workplace

i assumed that's where OP is coming from

Probably worried about office romances.

Why are you even anon?

Do whatever you want.

Re: Posting Anon

I find the expression "wants the d" to be pretty revolting.

I second this.

Where does it even come from? I've only seen it on tumblr... I thought maybe it was a song lyric but I'm afraid to ask.

I find it icky, very strange, and easy to deliberately misinterpret.

Re: Posting Anon

(Anonymous) 2013-10-08 11:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Because, how dare women actively seek out sex?

Re: Posting Anon

(Anonymous) 2013-10-09 12:00 am (UTC)(link)
LOL that's an interesting interpretation of what I said, and not at all correct.

Re: Posting Anon

I'm sorry but I'm never going to not find it hilarious

(although, i mean, using it seriously is pretty stupid, yes)

ITA. And I find it sad this is one of the only places I frequent that I feel I could say that and not get laughed at.

It's just...not so much what it means literally ("I think she may want to have sex with me") but more of a contextual thing. Feels so much like a rationalization, like a guy saying "come on I KNOW you want the D!" even after being told that no, in fact, she does not.

It's kind of like the word "friendzone" having implications far beyond what it literally means. And oh, I do hate that word.

Same.

Maybe she's just being nice to anon.

It depends on how much you like your job and how easily you could find a new one. Things could be okay on one hand, but on the other hand it might lead to office drama.

Re: Posting Anon

(Anonymous) 2013-10-08 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, I suppose that depends. How attached are you to your "d"? Would it be a problem if you lent it to her and then she didn't give it back?

Re: Posting Anon

(Anonymous) 2013-10-08 11:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't shit where you eat.

Unless, of course, you get exited over the possibility of work Drama with a capital D. If you cause any kind of disruption at work, your boss might think that you are not worth the trouble and you can start looking for another job.
