personally I have my own reasons for going anon, because I've seen people get hateful abusive comments and people who will follow you and remember what you said.

I recall a person who had some stalky anon follow them repeatedly calling them a rape apologist and told some story about how they said something awful to a bunch of rape survivors but when I asked for proof they disappeared.

Also I have an DW account and I've had someone callout who they thought I was when I was on anon (and they were right). Even though it was just a snide remark about how I had complained about my rents in the past on a question I asked about WRITING a CHARACTER, I felt just a liiiittle bit creeped out by it and less motivated to use my DW name.

nah...It was a little while ago. It just stuck out in my brain as "WOW geez get a grip that's really freakin' stalky." Also come to think I haven't seen that user around lately (the one who they were accusing).

I know who you are talking about, the person who was called a rape apologists and yeah, that person is no rape apologist, but a very sweet person that I have spoken with a lot. I was quite angry, to say the least.

It really is best to stay anon.

I found that person very annoying and occasionally offensive/ignorant, but the harassment was totally unwarranted.
