They're probably comparing it to Tumblr. But that's like someone saying they're smarter than a monkey. It doesn't mean much.

I think tumblr is loads nicer than here by default because you can pick and choose who you interact with and what you see, and can even specifically block subjects you don't want to see your favourite blogs post about. This notion that tumblr is one big like-minded community is strange to me because I have two different accounts for different functions and the experiences are nothing alike. My dash on one is sometimes a complete opposite of the other.

I say this because you can't control who follows you or notices you. If you post something that is "wrong" and it ends up where someone can notice it you are going get a lot of shit. And when I say "wrong" I mean something as trivial as misquoting something.

I'm glad you've got a bubble thing going on. What's I've said doesn't invalidate your experiences. It just means that, for me, tumblr is where I need to be wary while F!S is where I can relax.
