I totally understand the fear of posting non-anon OP, I used to lurk anon all the time because I was too scared to actually post under my username(fear of making a fool of myself, starting an argument, lots of things), then one day I started to post more and it was okay. Not any less scary, but nowhere near as bad as I thought it was going to be.

But that's just my experience, do whatever you are most comfortable with. :)
