Re: Tell me something good about your life
More seriously, I think the layout is better than a lot of the previous games. I like that the request board (well, box this time) is right outside your door. It has a really nice feel to it, and it's the only one that really feels as fresh and interesting as the first to me. (I mean, I love them all, but this one feels kind of revitalized.) And I think I like the localization as done by XSeed more than I've liked the Natsume ones. There's more humor and liveliness in it, I think. (They did Frontier, too, which has a similar vibe.)
Re: Tell me something good about your life
I love Eliza. I think it's great that your mailbox talks to you. She's adorable. I loved 3, but 4 is so great as I am so happy to be able to woo all the boys, haha. But I want to woo all the girls as well, so I'm sad you can't have one mega harem at your disposal.
Who are the people you plan to woo? I'm going for Dylas, but I want to make a harem and see all the love scenes for the guys. Of course, I feel guilty for hareming, so who knows. Haha.
XSeed did great translation. I love all the jokes and I've been following Hatsuu on tumblr and twitter and she talks about how much the team loved working on RF4. They really seem proud of RF4 and as a fan that makes me happy.
Re: Tell me something good about your life
OH GOD TALKING MAILBOX, FUCK YEAH! And hooray for not having to chase people down when you're doing requests... I didn't realize how much of a pain in the ass that was until this game streamlined it a bit.
I like Doug a lot so far. He's funny! Vishnal and Kiel have grown on me a lot, though. :D When it comes to the boy file I'll probably eventually do, I think I'm still undecided, but I like Margaret a lot so far. And I... Don't understand why Illuminata isn't a bachelorette. (At least not from where I am in the game, anyway.) But hey, it wouldn't be RF without an inexplicable wasted-potential character that you can't marry. XD
XSeed is awesome! I hope they're involved with any other RF games that get made/translated. I mean, I like Natsume fine and all... But you're right, the XSeed team seems really invested in the series, and I think it shows in the dialog.
(...Also, I feel the need to talk to someone about how Jones has pretty much the exact same face as Russell from RF1. NO ONE ELSE IS BRINGING THIS UP! Is it like, the elephant in the room or something?)
Re: Tell me something good about your life
Doug is great. Him and Dylas were close for a while there. I just want to marry them all. I think polygamy should be allowed in the next game XD I think I'm going for Clorica. I loved Karina in RF3 and she reminds me of her.
Illuminata should be a bachelor. I like Amber a lot, but she looks so young. I'd have liked to have switched her and Illuminata around. I'd also marry Lin Fa. She's the hot mom of the game.
It's nice not to have a million typos and sentence fragments like Natsume, haha. I love them, but HM:ANB had quite the few.
I never noticed the Jones/Russell thing. They do have the same face shape! Their hair colour and eye colour and different tho, so maybe that's why nobody has noticed it.
