(Anonymous) 2013-10-09 01:50 am (UTC)(link)thanks, that makes me feel better. i know i'm not alone since there are so many different kind of people out there but I guess it's nice to be able to hear from other people who feel the same way. I'm trying to stay positive, I've been thinking about it and I guess it's just so much easier to masturbate to get rid of the annoying feeling than it is to sit and try to ignore it, even though i don't enjoy it. I hope my medicine will stop making me feel that way all the time the longer i'm on it.

(Anonymous) 2013-10-09 03:26 am (UTC)(link)I've never been grossed out or lacking enjoyment in it, but I understand the confusion. For awhile I was really confused about why I'd be turned on by reading certain fic but still really really really turned off by any of that in real life or even the idea of a sexual relationship. Eventually though I did come to terms with the idea that yeah I can find sexual enjoyment by myself and in random fic and vids but still completely 110% asexual.
If it helps I've read that some asexual people view masturbation as a kind of body maintenance. Just one of those things that needs to be done to keep functioning at tip top. Sometimes your body gets horny and you masturbate. Sometimes your bladder gets full and you pee. You know? Just one of those body things. Maybe thinking of it like that could help your outlook?

(Anonymous) 2013-10-09 07:06 am (UTC)(link)RE: Masturbation as body maintenance, a sexually-oriented friend of mine once confided in me that she does it to help with some of the symptoms of PMS, specifically cramping, when it gets to be particularly bad. I gave it a try and found out that it really does work. While I'm by no means a doctor or scientist, I'm guessing it helps because it stimulates the flow of endorphins. Sooo...yeah, +1 to self-love as body maintenance. This ace lady appreciates having an option other than NSAIDs.
