But it's not OOC and not irrelevant. You could read just the sex he has on the show - and that's fine, that's what most people would do - but that doesn't invalidate any ambiguously sexual scenes he has with male characters. A character being interested in a same-sex character can't really be OOC because it's not a personality trait - it would depend on how his actions and thoughts are written. And it's certainly not irrelevant to do a gay reading of any media...
