Re: I think this community sucks at troll diagnosis

Actually one of the things that bothers me about people calling troll around here is for issues like health. I've come here anon a few times to ask for advice or help on health matters, and several of those times several people called me a troll.

I wasn't being inflammatory or anything, but I think maybe the severity of my problems made them think I was just baiting for sympathy or trying to stir up shit. And to be honest, that did rather hurt. I wasn't lying, and having people taunt me only made me feel worse about my problems-- like if these people didn't believe me, who the fuck would?

The way I look at it, if someone expresses a real, fairly serious problem asking for support and advice, what does it cost you to believe them? On the other hand, if you disbelieve and deride them, you could have placed someone in a precarious position into an even worse spot. Why would you want to cause more pain to that person?

And I'll probably get more shit for this. I'll probably get called a troll right now too. But I'd rather say something now, and maybe have people have second thoughts the next time they decide to troll or call troll on someone expressing an issue about their health.

No, I agree with you and I'm really sorry that happened to you.
