That's kinda rude. Why did she feel the need to say that to you?

(He could still have a sleepover even if his mom didn't want a girl sleeping over. Once in middle school a friend of mine had a birthday party where we had 1 guy friend - 2 were invited, but one couldn't come - stay until about 11:00PM and then go home)

ETA: that's not a statement about my beliefs on whether or not co-ed sleepovers should be a thing. It's actually not something I've given a lot of thought. Just a statement on why I think nixing the whole thing because one person isn't allowed to stay over is super dumb
