This is awesome just for the gifs alone. I had a friend who used to say the second one, which drove me up the wall.

Hahaha, reminds me of my grumpy old English teacher who hated the word athleticism among other things.

(Anonymous) 2013-10-09 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't know why. It's a perfectly cromulent word.

Sidetracking, I'm a bit tired of Buzzfeed... I've been reading their articles for a long time, and now they just sound so attention-grabby. "23 Epic things!!" "The 16 saddest moments in the history of everything!" "Literally the worst things that could happen to anyone!" (toaster burning your toast, stepping on water with sock on, etc.) I imagine them as a hyper twentysomething who instagrams everything, wears flower crowns in real life and does cartoonish expressions irl.

Yeah, I looked at some of the links on the side that were like that. Honestly, I don't know if I've ever been to the website before. This was linked on Facebook.

It's sad, they used to be pretty good to spend some time dicking around :(

I was nodding and grinning along until I hit "intensive purposes" and reflexively started gurgling with rage.

While I use "irregardless", I do so because my girlfriend is a language dork, and being annoying is sometimes funny.
starphotographs: ...I'm not that bad, though. And I don't even light things on fire! Well, not regularly... (Izaya (devious))

I've never heard "flustrated" before, but I kind of like it as a portmanteau.

(Also, WTF, my aunt says "vise-a versa." How is this a thing!?)

"Misunderestimate"? Why would...WHY?!

IME, the only person to ever use 'misunderestimate' seriously is George W Bush. And he, so far as I know, only did so once, in 2000.

Seriously though, my WHOLE LIFE until recently I thought it was 'sherbert'. So strongly that I didn't even notice that is was 'sherbet' when reading it, like with Harry Potter and sherbet lemon.

It was like my entire world had suddenly collapsed from beneath me.

In HP they're talking about a type of sweet (candy), I think the article is complaining about the dessert (which is basically a sorbet with a small amount of milk fat)

(Anonymous) 2013-10-10 12:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Damn. All this did was remind me that we don't have lemon sherbets where I live.

*pout*
