People calling blackface just for the sake of something to SJ about is stupid, but if it makes some people uncomfortable for real, there's obviously something about it that's reminiscent enough of blackface.

I'm a white person but I have to admit my first reaction to the picture was "How is that not blackface?" So I don't think it's as ridiculous as other people here seem to.

I get that it's a demon and no one meant it to be blackface but that was still definitely my first reaction to the picture.

Of course I didn't miss it. I mean that the picture looked like someone in blackface to me anyway, even though I realized it wasn't intended as that.

My first reaction was "How can people mistake that for blackface?" because there's particular tropes tied up in "Blackface" that that demon doesn't have.
