And honestly? For the same reasons. The first fanart I saw and liked had those trends. So now it's my headcanon.

All of the interpretations of Dana that I've really liked have that same sort of spiraly curly hair. It just... Seems like the kind of hair a Dana would have, somehow.

YES. This is my headcanon for Dana too! And... it's because the first fanart I saw of Intern Dana depicted a black woman.

Same with Cecil, TBH. First fanart seen -> First headcanon.

I like the one with Old Woman Josie being a kickass biker with a rockabilly fashion sense. Same reason.

And I like the Apache Tracker being Johnny Depp's Tonto because I saw it in a gifset and IT WAS HILARIOUS.

I saw a fake movie trailer with Johnny Depp as the Apache Tracker. That might be where the gifset came from? But yeah, that is definitely now my headcanon for the Apache Tracker.

Oooooh! Yeah! A trailer set to Imagine Dragon's Radioactive, yes? It's an amazing fake trailer. I loved everything about it... except for the guys they cast as Carlos and Cecil, ahaha /)_u

But I did saw it after the gifset. With all the racewank surrounding Depp's Tonto, I thought it was specially LOLtastic, given's Cecil hate of the Apache Tracker appropiating indigenous cultures XD

I didn't really like their Carlos and Cecil that much either. But I don't watch a heck of a lot of TV or movies so I end up not being really familiar enough with actors to "cast" stuff in my head.

IKR! I saw some fanarts with variations on the "dotty older woman, classical WB Granny", and thought they were adorable. But 70-something rockabilly biker Old Woman Josie is too cool. I can't let go of that idea X'D

I don't think I've seen any fanart that matches my headcanon Dana, because in my head she dresses very plainly and conservatively. I seem to recall seeing one in a hijab, but other than that all the Dana fanart I've found makes her too "hip" for me.

I picture her like that too! Plus the voice of Dana sounded like the voice of a black woman to me, so I automatically saw her as black.

I pictured her as black before that episode, though. They might have cast her that way because it was a popular image, but I don't know how much attention they pay to fandom.
