The idea of him having his "third eye/Agna Chakra/pineal gland" open is really neat, but I hate it when they depict him as having an actual flesh-and-blood third eye. Is not that it looks bad, but... but I'd really rather have a (mostly?) human!Cecil. The show is way more interesting if you think of Night Vale as "a town with mostly normal humans in which weird things happen so constantly nobody is weirded out anymore" than "ZOMG SUPERNATURAL TOWN, EVERYONE IS AN ELDRITCH ABOMINATION". Maybe that's my cultural background, we're big on Magical Realism here south of your border, but...

Tentacles, maybe.
Me, I'm a fan of Cecil-with-two-pure-white-eyes, as a contrast to Kevin's pure-black ones. Bonus points if they occasionally do things like get staticky or display test patterns. Not as an inhuman thing, just as a "this is what it means to be a broadcaster in Night Vale" thing.

The thing is, that most fandom seems to fail realizing, is that none of us is more correct than the other :'D And I'd read fic with Cecil-with-two-pure-white-eyes with no problem. Not "my" Cecil, maybe, but still an interesting headcanon worth exploring.
The tattoos look nice in fanart, too, even while they aren't my headcanon either. The tentacles, I'm not so keen on. But I'm not going to go around bullying people who like tentacles. I'll just not click on tentacle fic.

For pete's sake, yes! It's... A... Radio show? As in, no one looks like anything, except in the mind of the listener? I don't know why it's such an issue.
You know, I want to like the tentacles, because I think tentacled things are neat, but I just can't make it work for me. No one ever seems to draw a tentacled Cecil from an angle where you can see how the things actually attach, and I can never imagine a satisfactory way to put tentacles on a humanoid. It just seems like any way you could do it would be really awkward. Well, to me, at least. (If someone has anything that disproves this, I wanna see!)

I saw one chibi tentacle picture which was adorable but most of the other art with them leaves me confused.

It is, however, remarkable, which is exactly what Cecil's appearance is not.

(Anonymous) 2013-10-10 01:56 am (UTC)(link)I actually pictured WTNV as a very wacky, trippy cartoon at first, like Flapjack meets Superjail. I saw them all as having unnatural colored skin and exaggerated imperfections, like

2) I have the art you're looking for. I can be your dealer. Do you have any other particulars?
