I've never found the creepypasta memes like Jeff the Killer, Slenderman, The Rake, or Stitch scary. I find them to be silly concepts and, for the most part, are in poorly written stories. Most of the creepypastas that people recommend I find terribly paced and rely too much on gore to scare people (example: The Russian Sleep Experiment). Where as the creepypastas most people get confused by or are not very popular I tend to get very frightened by.

I've never found a creepypasta to be scary but I have found some of their derivative works to be scary or can acknowledge the scariness of a concept.

Most creepypasta I've read is pretty dumb. It just gets to a point where it's too over the top to suspend my disbelief. They should be more subtle.

I agree. The only ones that managed to creep me out that I can think of right now are "Barbie.avi" by Antennastoheaven and "The Whispers" by DeadAtFifty, Both are stories the majority get confused by, since there technically is no death or gore written in it. But those stories chilled me to the bone because they're the type that you do a second reading of and realize how intense they actually were. A few creepypastas that didn't necessarily creep me out, but I can appreciate writing wise are "Quiet" by Josef K., "The Showers" by Dylan Sindelar, "The Crawlspace" by Kaitie H., and "Prey" by John R.

I like reading creepypastas but most of them aren't very scary, or they start off well and ramp up to eleven right at the end and it takes any believability out of it. I still like looking at them though.

I feel that way specifically about video game creepypastas. Which is annoying because video games in real life can be terrifying to me! Glitches? Yeeesh. But most creepypastas about them I find lazy and boring.

I hear you. I should have added that I'm not scared of those types of creepypastas too, but it slipped my mind. One time I thought a video game creepypasta was a parody and I couldn't stop laughing at it; I felt bad when I realized that the person was trying to make it scary.

That darn Majora's Mask video could have been so creepy had the story about it not been so fucking silly.
