Yep! For that matter, I don't really care about "strong female characters"--I watch/read things for their entertainment value, and the stories we have now entertain me, even with their cliched sausage fests.

This, this, this. I actually *prefer* shows/movies with an all-male or mostly-male cast. I'm female, but I seldom relate to female characters. I relate to the male characters.

The Bechdel Test is stupid.

Plus, these "strong female characters" often aren't truly strong in a realistic and positive way at all, they're just aggressive or reckless.

This is what I'm doing with Frozen and Tumblr's misquote of the guy who said something about "animating female characters is hard" when Disney CLEARLY can.

And the same about the third episode of Sleepy Hollow.Tumblr's nay-sayers have been trying to jump on the show for that, but luckily the fandom seems to be going "NOPE NOPE LALALALALALA ICHABBIE FTW" and it makes me happy.

I don't really care if other people choose not to care about what bothers me, because if I shared the world with clones of myself I'd nuke us all, but what pisses me off is when people get upset by critique happening somewhere on the planet earth. Like, fine, you have every right not to have "but look how problematic this is" actively shoved in your face and be shamed for not caring a whit, but if you pop up on somewhere that isn't in your face like "the sheer existence of this critique is leaking into the space-time continuum and ruining my fun, stop it", it's like, no, fuck off.

I care but I am able to acknowledge it and (sometimes) continue enjoying something. My sister has very few things she likes, because any tiny bit of problematic-ness just ruins it for her.

I also don't like it when she talks about it right away, like yes I agree there should be more POC characters on Once Upon a Time but let me enjoy my show please.
