Yes. Until a human being has a personality, I have a hard time seeing them as people. I find parents, especially new parents, lose all sense of perspective regarding babies: theirs is special and unique because it's theirs! Look at this new and unique thing that their baby does, which is special because it's theirs!, and they forget there are a hundred million babies that are basically interchangeable with it to everybody else.

Babies do have personalities, though they're not as developed as an adults.

Yes, this. I've had truckloads of infant nieces and nephews and they express personalities. OP's inexperience seems to be peeking through.

They are. That's some of them get so offended when other people don't seem to particularly care too much. :\
