No idea since I'm not in Supernatural fandom, but it kind of reminds me of The Famous Jett Jackson movie where the main actor, who plays an actor in an in-show scifi spy series, gets sucked into the world of his character.

And just in general it seems like a concept that should exist.

It definitely should exist. Meta-verse bleedover is one my absolute favourite things and it is so rarely done (or, at least, done well). Actors picking up traits from their characters, actors sucked into the world of their characters, actors discovering the 'fictional' thing they've been part of is all real...I'm still treasuring the one Avengers fic I found where all of the actors started acting and thinking like their characters, and found themselves gaining their powers.
