I would tend to assume that you're defending the idea that non-Tea Party Republicans still have a home in the Republican Party. Here's the thing, though: even if the tendency is not absolute, it is still absolutely the case that there is a tendency towards the outside, and that the Tea Party is trying to make the Republican Party over in its own image, and frequently succeeding, and that this is especially true in the context of national politics and Washington. Even if that's not true on the edges, it's still true in general. The Tea Party is changing the Republican Party.
