Fuck Adware to hell

(Anonymous) 2013-10-12 09:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I have adware on my computer. I have tried every scan and antivirus or malware scanner but it hasn't reached it.

When I'm connected to the internet my speakers will randomly play some ad or radio broadcast. I've scanned my computer and gotten rid of stuff but every time I feel hope that it's gone it comes back. It started sometime after I started going to pandora radio but it plays them with out pandora.

It's gotten to the point where the ads playing is enough to make me cry out of frustration. I can only sometimes stop them disconnecting and reconnecting to the internet.

I don't know what to do anymore. Should I delete everything in my downloads folder. What?

That's not adware. Embedded advertisements in many websites have gained the annoying habit of a) being videos and b) starting on their own, sometimes completely at random, necessitating the user to hit the pause button -- which then only stops it for a short while. And if you have 10+ tabs up like I always do, well...good luck finding it.

Oh.

OH....

OH GOD THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR TELLING ME!

*ahem* Thank you. This has been getting on my nerves for the longest time.

I just went and installed adblock. It's so much quieter now.

You didn't have Adblock installed to begin with?! Well, no wonder your internet browsing was a nightmare.

Heeeeee! I never turn my speakers up unless i actually want to hear something (random noises annoy me) and so it's always a shock to turn them up and hear something that's been playing for a while in another tab.

I hate that so much. I've thought my computer had been hacked or something too because of those things.

I got a diaper commercial in Spanish the other day, and I didn't even realize any of the tabs I had open had those kind of ads, so I was like "What the hell is going on?"

so I downloaded adblock. But I still have to turn off my speakers because I'm getting news broadcasts and "hollywood scoop" when my browser is closed. Sometimes they still play even when the internet is shut OFF.

How do I fix THIS?

If all else falls, you could go the route of backing important files and then wiping your computer into factory default.
