What else do you expect them do identify as then? They aren't liberal and don't agree with many of Democratic political stands but aren't rabid Bible thumpers either. Moderate Republican is the closest thing to identify with.

Democrats are right wing too though, it's a bit sad that you think of them as liberal. They really aren't.
