She dated Matt Smith for a bit

I am a long time Doctor Who fan but I did not know that. I must say that I do not know (or care) who the actors involved in it date/are married to. And same for every other TV show I like (or movies really)...

Why should I? Unless one is part of the Doctor Who RPF fandom (which is NOT the same and has next to do with the show's fandom) the personal detail of an actor/actress are completely irrelevant to one's fandom love. eg: I love the Eleventh doctor but I don't care about Matt Smith. I quite like the Tenth Doctor, but I actively dislike David Tennant (mainly because I think he's a terrible actor, as a person I have no idea what he is like . And no interest, granted).

So unless the OP is conflating the actor with the character he plays, it sounds like she is just not frequenting the correct fandom circles: she should make her way out of the RPS side of Dr Who fandom pronto if she doesn't care about this person is all I can say... (by which I mean that fans who love whomever that is are quite free to obsess and jump with glee at the thought of her dating an actor they like, of course).

Nothing to do with Doctor Who and its fandom.

Unless the OP is part of the British actors RPS fandom, not Doctor Who, and wants us to empathize with her dislike a a specific woman? Sorry, no. I don't dislike people simply upon being shown s picture of them.

Sorry for the very severe tone, but I get tired of all the noobs who cannot tell the difference between TV shows/movies and real life. Gah! This is what leads to horrible messes like what happened with the LoTR RPS scandals and flame wars.

Regardless of the AYRT getting the detail of your fondness wrong, the point stands.

What the actors do have nothing to do with what the characters are. And I've found the Who fandom a place where that is very much true indeed, and nobody gives a damn. So I second getting yourself into a new corner of fandom!
