Cooking question?

How long can clams and/or mussels last after cooking if you want to turn them into chowder?

We made clams and mussels for the big annual family get-together and wound up with leftovers; if we're going to make soup with them do we need to get started right away or will they they okay being frozen/refrigerated for a little while?

It's probably better to make the soup now. If you freeze them, there's a chance that they'll turn into watery little things and your soup won't taste as good. The soup will be much easier to freeze!
