Your personal default position is not a problem. We've seen this same secret in the past, except people were assuming their favorite characters were atheist - or not atheist. (I have a weakness for assuming characters are vegetarian until I see them with a hamburger.) It's human nature to assume people are like you unless it's proven otherwise. I would suggest that overcoming this particular aspect of human nature can enrich your life and imagination, but you're not hurting anyone if you don't.

As long as you're not acting in a homophobic manner in real life, any/or acting in a nasty or dismissive manner to 'shippers of these pairings, your headcanon is your business.
