But is "the shockingly high proportion of CEOs who are sociopaths" even relevant here? I doubt that the OP is a CEO. More likely, "success" in OP's context means something on the order of "finished school/is employed/is financially stable/doesn't live home with the folks/is not in a dysfunctional relationship/is reasonably happy." TBQH, I suspect it means about the same thing to the "most successful people are douchebags" commenter.

I... somehow doubt that "finished school" or "is reasonably happy" was what OP meant by "douchebag". You're reaching pretty hard, here.

Have you? You need a better circle of acquaintances, comrade. I've had full rides all the way up to my PhD and have yet to hear anyone say anything other than "good job!" or "congratulations, that's wonderful!". You choose the company you keep, after all.
