You like what you like. *shrugs and hi-fives*

+1

I'm the easiest person to bait ever

(Anonymous) 2013-10-14 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
same. If I have only enough time to devote to one show, I will choose the option with the most slashbait 100% of the time. Even if there is a show with canon gay romance.

Canon romances, even the gay ones, can be boring so I don't really blame you.

(Anonymous) 2013-10-14 11:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Me too, basically. I like to see if it has a large slash fandom before I start watching/reading something.

When it's canon, it's boring to me. (with the exception of one). I always go for the shows where there's multiple male characters, where there's a variety of possible ships (since my taste in ships usually doesn't align with the majority at all.) Only twice have I ever shipped the "main"/popular ship of a fandom.

Eh, I'm a lot like this. I just never really enjoy how canon handles romance. But I still think I should prioritize diverse and positive queer representation in mainstream media over my personal fanfic preferences.

I feel like this is a Hannibal secret...

OP

(Anonymous) 2013-10-15 08:46 am (UTC)(link)
haha, it really isn't. hannibal is way to cruel to will for my taste, poor baby

(Anonymous) 2013-10-15 12:59 am (UTC)(link)
I kind of do this with all shipping?

Like, I'm not going to watch Elementary because the creators specifically shot down the Holmes/Watson romance possibility.

(Anonymous) 2013-10-15 07:29 am (UTC)(link)
I don't watch it because Watson is not male so I can't slash.
Now THAT is a secret...

tangent, but thnx to this secret i decided to check on the MSF page over at fanlore again and noticed for the first time that while that term isn't complimentary, slash slut was "used in an endearing way".

i guess the change has to do with the faster rotation of fandoms from the late 90s onward.

(Anonymous) 2013-10-15 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't see a problem with that unless you start bitching about "queer baiting" which is 99% of the time, complete bullshit.
