Best adaptation of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde?

[personal profile] intrigueing 2013-10-14 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
So, I want to watch an adaptation of The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, since I just re-read it for the first time in a few years, but there's about three bajillion film adaptations of it and I don't know which one's the best. Can anyone give me suggestions?

The Wishbone version.

Simply because everything is made better by an adorable Jack Russell Terrier.

I saw this from flat comments and reread the subject line an embarrassing amount of times before I thought to check the previous comment subject lines to see if you'd corrected it. :/

Dude, yes! I watched it in Korean, and my Korean sucks but I was still blown away. Such great staging and songs.

Like, masturbation of a kind that would cause Jekyll mental or physical pain after he transformed back? I dunno.

This isn't an adaption of the books per say (the creators called it a sequel of sorts), but I enjoyed the BBC's Jekyll. It's set in present time and focuses on a descedent of Jekyll and his Hyde. I thought it was an interesting take on it.
