Sometimes people like to say that Holmes as imagined in the show "Sherlock" is unline Doyle's Holmes because the BBC character is a dick and the ACD character isn't.

Gonna have to disagree with you. Among other things, because in Dying Detective Holmes has a complete freak out when he thinks Watson is about to accidentally poison himself, while in Sherlock's 'Hounds of Baskerville', Sherlock does the poisoning for him. It's always nice when you test random murder chemicals on your friends, isn't it?

ACD Holmes was more than capable of being a dick. Sherlock just is one.

Thank you. BBC Sherlock is not ACD's Holmes, no matter how many BBC stans try to claim he is.
