Apparently, it's supposed to be a '60s throwback. As someone who hates the artistic trends that were dominant in the '60s, I feel your pain.

How to say it to your friends: "that show doesn't work for me. I don't like the characters and I like something with more story to it. Now let's talk about something everyone likes."

Is that really that hard? I don't understand why we get twenty secrets a week (hyperbole) saying this. You don't have to like every show your friends do, and they don't have to like every show you do. Chalk it up to personal differences in taste and move on like responsible adults.

^ you hit the nail on the head

I personally enjoy the show, but it's not for everyone. Just like how everything else is not for everyone. Everyone has different tastes, so why we keep seeing secrets like this is beyond me. Shrug it off like an adult and move on.

I can understand where you're coming from. I think the two main characters are cute, but... I'm just not really interested in watching it. And it's strange, because Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends was/is my favorite Cartoon Network cartoon by a long shot. I'm not sure what WOY is lacking, but I know it's lacking /something/.

I watched the first episode and couldn't deal with it anymore.

Some people like spending 15 minutes a week watching mindless comedic fluff. Some people don't.

I fail to see why this is such a problem. Why can't you just say "sorry, it's not my thing"?

I hated Wander. He's such an annoying little prick. We already have a Spongebob and Squidward, why did we need Wander and Hatred?

I feel the same way about "Adventure Time". I'd heard a lot of hype about it before I watched it and even had my brother recommend it to me (and I take his recommendations very seriously), but when I sat down and watched it all I felt was "meh". I wanted to like it, and everything I'd seen and heard about it before I watched it indicated it'd be something I'd completely love and enjoy. But in the end, it did nothing for me.

The best explanation that I can come up with is that I "just don't get it". Oh well.
