Meh. I got most of the story I wanted to know about Gus from his flashbacks. Plus, I expect they are going with Saul because it will be more humorous and not just another dark "meth kingpin origin".

That's kind of why I think they should've gone with something else. I think you can only go comedic with Saul and comedy isn't the main draw of the show (don't get me wrong, I love the comedy, I just like the drama better).

I agree that drama's been the main focus of the show (since season 2, anyway--season 1 is straight-up black comedy), but....the spinoff will be a different show. Expecting a spin-off to be the same as the show it originated from is probably the best way to ensure its failure. If a comedy about Saul isn't interesting to you, that's totally fine, but I don't think you can fault it just for being different from Breaking Bad.

I'm hoping it'll be like Law and Order only with Saul getting the scumbag off at the end in a hilarious way, personally.
