I'm wondering how the character manages that precision of facial hair using a straight razor and a probably crappy hand mirror. Then again, maybe he has trouble shaving right under his lip? idk, I know nothing about the logistics of shaving.

True, soul patches in medieval circumstances where the guy probably isn't well-off enough to have a servant do it for him is kind of dodgy.

In many non-Western countries I've been to, barbers have generally set up on the side of the road with a chair and a little mirror, and I'm sure their services are pretty cheap. Don't see why that wouldn't be a thing here, there's probably no regulations against hair all over the road.

Yeah, exactly. The hair is fine for a grumpy mediaeval archer. The beard looks far too high-maintenance.
